Tributes…
Thank you, President Daniel Jackson and Mrs. Donna Jackson from the NAD Prayer Ministries Union Directors Atlantic Union Yvonne Knight, Director Today, as I think about Dan and Donna Jackson, I must look backward and pray forward. Backward to the meaningful interactions that I have been privileged to have with the Jacksons. It was so obvious that the Holy Spirit was very comfortable living in their hearts, in the good times and the other times. There was a constant reflection of God’s love and compassion in the ways they treated others, whether it were at a Women’s Ministries Convention, a Prayer Summit, or one of the many events for Ministerial Spouses. It gives me joy to know that they made themselves available to be used to help us along this Journey of Life. Dan and Donna have been great sources of encouragement as we transitioned from the Conference to the Union. Looking forward, I anticipate and pray that wherever they go, their interactions with others will continue to encourage many to give glory to God. May He continue to lead them in the next phase of their lives. Yvonne Knight Columbia Union Frank Bondurant, Director Dan and Donna, Our church has been so blessed by your ministry. Thank you for consistently modeling a grace-based Leadership, and for being a champion for women in ministry. God has used you for His purposes and for His glory! Go in peace knowing you will be sorely missed. Frank Bondurant *Lake Union Conference Gary Burns SDA Church in Canada Erna McCann, Director Dan and Donna Jackson: I remember, as a child, my Dad and Dan going to college together – they were good friends, in fact, my baby brother was named Danny, in his honor. I thought Donna was the most beautiful woman in the world. It was many years later, and I was an adult when I saw them again. They recognized me, which was a big surprise, and quite incredible after all the people they’d met in the meantime! Father, bless them as they retire. May the Holy Spirit continue to use them in mighty ways for the spiritual strengthening and encouragement of Your people, I pray! Erna McCann Mid-America Union Roger Wade, Director Thank you for your ministry to the North American Division. Together, you have inspired many to choose the path of righteousness through the leadership exhibited. Also, you championed God’s love for His children. Thank you! The members and leaders of the Mid-America Union praise God for you, Pastor Daniel and Sis. Donna Jackson, and pray His continued leading and favor upon your life as you begin a new phase of life. Roger R. Wade *North Pacific Union Kevin Wilfley Pacific Union Karen Martell, Director Dan and Donna – You have no idea how much you will be missed! I will never forget all the events we had that you were a part of and how faithfully you showed up in the prayer room to pray and be prayed for. God has used you in so many wonderful ways to bless our Church over the years. I am convinced that the forward movement of the Church and its success today has been fortified by the many hours that I know you commit to prayer. Those of us who have been in prayer leadership over these years have seen God at work in amazing ways and felt the support of your Leadership for Prayer Ministry. I am eternally grateful not only for our friendship but for your spiritual direction. Our churches across North America are experiencing deep seasons of prayer for the Holy Spirit and a finished work among us. That spiritual awakening that we have prayed for so long is becoming a reality. Jesus rejoices over you because as Spiritual Leaders you have done your part and brought God’s people into this place of hunger for the things of God. Prayer Ministry will miss your leadership but know that you have led by example and modeled the life of Jesus that we all want to emulate as we work and wait in hope for the coming of Jesus. We will miss you both very much. Be blessed as the old things pass away and God begins a new and beautiful chapter in your lives. He is not finished yet. Karen and Lynn Martell Southwestern Union Helvis Moody, Director Elder Dan and Donna Jackson, Thanks for your leadership, your kind spirit, and your dedication to ministry. May God Bless you all and enjoy retirement. Pastor Helvis C. Moody Southern Union Conference of SDA David A. Long, Director When I think of Elder Dan Jackson, and his wife Donna, I am encouraged that a couple in ministry for God, can maintain a deep hunger for God and great compassion for God’s people, after years of being battered by the harsh winds of criticism, and possibly even hatred at one time or another. Their willingness to be close to others, though sitting atop the NAD organizational chart, was amazing. They should have lost the common touch years ago, but love never fails. Thank you for showing us that having a long tenure in God’s service does not have to dampen one’s enthusiasm for our loving God or His children who are often so unloving. David A. Long Tributes to Diane Pacific Union Karen Martell, Director Diane: You will never know how much I have appreciated your hard work and total commitment to Prayer Ministry. You spent hours on the phone, working on the prayer calls and making sure that everything was covered. If we needed help you were there. We depended on you to do so much. You were in the background at our Prayer Conferences and a major contributor to the success of so much of what we did and what happened. Always cheerful and willing, it was a delight to work with you and see your name and hear your voice. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DID FOR US! It is with sadness that I see you retire. God still has wonderful plans for your life and will continue to use you and your gifts in amazing ways. Blessings in your pursuit of Kingdom Business – because I know that God is not finished yet.
